Completion of the appropriate CITI Training is required for all investigators and research personnel prior to IRB approval at Orlando Health. CITI training is valid for 3 years from the date of completion at Orlando Health.

If you have not taken CITI (first time user)

1) The link for CITI Training is: www.citiprogram.org/default.asp
2) Register as a New User
3) CITI training must have Orlando Health as the affiliated institution
4) For all residents/fellows/students that are not Principal Investigators:
          a. Complete the modules in the "Fellows/Residents/Students" learner group
          b. Complete "Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) Course - Information for Investigators"
          c. Upload your CITI Training in your User Profile in IRBNet.
5) For investigators/research staff on treatment trials involving investigational drugs and/or devices:
          a. Complete the modules in the "Biomedical Research Investigators " learner group
          b. Complete "Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) Course - Information for Clinicians"
          c. Upload your CITI Training in your User Profile in IRBNet.
6) For investigators/research staff on non-treatment trials not involving drugs and/or devices:
          a. Complete the modules in the "Research Staff-Basic " learner group
          b. Complete "Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) Course - Information for Clinicians"
          c. Upload your CITI Training in your User Profile in IRBNet.

If you have taken your CITI training at another institution

Depending on what CITI Training modules you have taken at another institution, you may not need to re-take those modules when you add Orlando Health as another affiliated institution. Please note: After you add Orlando Health as an affiliated institution, you will have to complete training that are listed as "Incomplete." To do this:

1) The link for CITI Training is: www.citiprogram.org/default.asp
2) Affiliate with Orlando Health by clicking on "Affiliate with another institution" after you log in.
3) Orlando Health will be available in the drop-down menu for "Participating Institutions."
4) Once you return to the Main Menu, click on "Add a course or update your learner group for Orlando Health"
          a. For all residents/fellows/students that are not Principal Investigators:

                    iii. Upload your CITI Training in your User Profile in IRBNet.

                    i. Complete the modules in the "Research Staff-Basic " learner group
                    ii. Complete "Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) Course - Information for Clinicians"
                    iii. Upload your CITI Training in your User Profile in IRBNet.
5) If applicable, click on "Incomplete - Re-enter" to complete the appropriate course. If you do not see this option and instead you see "Passed - MM/DD/YY," then you do not need to do any additional training. Click on "Print" and you are done.
